Jessica is a senior in the School of Hotel Administration, concentrating her in passion of Real Estate Finance. This past summer, she worked in Morgan Stanley's Global Capital Markets division in the area of Leveraged Finance- Financial Sponsors. This experience, coupled with her background in capital gain tax deferral and real estate law has only furthered her desire to develop effective solutions for this segment of the market. Her roots in hospitality can be traced back to restaurants, of which she has extensive front-of-house experience. Her activities during the academic year range from the Club Soccer Team to Hotelies Serving Society, a group of students passionate about furthering the spirit of service amongst students in the Hotel School. After graduation, she hopes to work in the real estate transaction and development industry.
Jessica is a junior at the Hotel School with interests in real-estate, finance, and statistics. Prior to her arrival at the Hotel School, she gained work experience at UBS Financial Services, Inc. in Weehawken, NJ in the Client Services department, helping to managing various off-shore client accounts. Her enthusiasm for business, however, was sparked when she was recognized for her achievements as a finalist on the five-member Federal Reserve Team at the Federal Reserve Challenge in New York City. As a college freshman, Jessica worked as an Accounting and Sales Intern at Luxoft USA, Inc., the American branch of Russia’s largest provider of high-end IT outsourcing services. During the school year, her dedication to her studies motivates Jessica to work alongside her professors teaching accounting, statistics, and managerial communication. Additionally, coming from a Russian background, Jessica frequently travels to Europe, and successfully completed an intensive one-month Wall Street Training Program in Switzerland this past summer. Along with travel, however, Jessica’s passions include tennis; piano; and, more recently, golf.
Lindsey is a junior at the Hotel School interested in focusing on marketing and legal research. Prior to matriculation at Cornell, she gained industry experience working at a hotel on Long Island in tandem with conducting industry research with a professor at the Hotel School for the Intel Science Talent Search; during her senior year of high school, she gained recognition as an Intel Science Talent Search Semi-Finalist based on her research. Upon acceptance to the Hotel School, Cornell offered Lindsey a unique research experience as a Cornell Presidential Research Scholar. At the Hotel School, she continues to work closely with her research professor and hopes to publish her findings prior to graduation. She gained additional experience working as a copyeditor and marketing analyst for Starwood’s Luxury Collection, as well as one of the marketing interns for GradCity.com’s GradFest marketing plan. After graduating from Cornell, Lindsey plans to attend law school and eventually become a hospitality lawyer.
Isaac is a junior in the School of Hotel Administration focusing on accounting and taxation. This past summer he worked at Evans Hotel Investors as an assistant accountant. His main duties included auditing and preparing financial statements for various hotels. Before this position he worked at his family’s small company, Zimmerman Investments. This diversified investment company provided Isaac the opportunity to experience many different aspects of asset management. He remains active in the preparation of taxes and financial statements at the end of each fiscal period. Isaac gained operations experience while working at the University Inn in Atlanta and at the Statler Hotel in Ithaca. He will be taking the exam to become a Certified Public Accountant during the spring of 2009.
Adrienne is a sophomore in the Hotel School. She has worked in hotel operations for 6 years and has experience in the Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Food and Beverage departments. Adrienne will spend the summer working for a construction company in Seattle, WA, where she will be assisting with the construction of the downtown Four Seasons property there. In the fall, Adrienne will deepen her commitment to the world of hospitality by taking a four-month spa therapy program in Vancouver. When she returns to Cornell, Adrienne will continue to her work as a Teaching Assistant for Information Systems and will complete her degree in Hotel Administration.
